    243 powder

Yes another what for 243, but I find the knowledge in valuable amongst our members.
    What I'm upto
Picked up a 243 with 1:9 twist 18 inch barrel and a dnt zulus
Going to load for it have starline brass and 105 targex
My 2 powder choices at the moment are 2206h and ar2217, I know superfomance or 2209 are probably a better choice but it's working with what I have
Primers I have federal lrp and cci mlrp
Leaning towards the 2217 and magnum Primers any thoughts

You will probably run out of powder space before you get to top speed/pressure with 2217.

I used 2208 with 105s in Starline brass and came up with good speed and accuracy.

I shouldn't have looked, with the 105 Targex I worked up to 39.5 grains 2208. ADI max for 2208 is listed as 33 for a 105 AMAX.

    Im running 34.6gr 2208 with a 105 in a smaller case (6GT). You can probably jam like 37gr in a .243 with a 105-108

2217 is far too slow. 2217 is for 7mag country. 2209 was born for the 243. Alternatively use 2213sc. 2C.

Not according to the data on ADI's site.

AR2217 shows better advertised speeds with the 105gr A-Max and the 108gr ELD-M than ADI got using AR2209 or AR2213SC.

It's not just a function of how big the case is. The size of the hole it's got to escape down and how heavy and hard the bullet blocking its path is has as much to do with powder selection.

E.g. 2225 is perfectly viable in my 22-250ai with the heavies.

An outlier for the 243 is N550. High energy and around the burn rate of 2209. It was great for me.
Restraint is the better part of dignity. Don't justify getting even. Do not do unto others as they do unto you if it will cause harm.
