    243 Powder an Projectiles

I know some of this has been covered on here half a decade ago. Starting to load for 243. AR2209 is out of stock everywhere.
Should I start with Winchester 760 or AR2206H?
Thinking to try Hornady SST 95gr, Speer BTSP 100gr or whatever else..seems much of a muchness at this point.

    18” barrel with suppressor
    1-10 twist
Shooting 200m Max more like 20-100m.

    Any recommendations?

2208 would be preferable to 2206h if you have it and even then its a bit fast, I had a nice load with 95gr targex and 2208 but dont have the data on hand sorry.

I can only see load data for up to 80gr. Also will need to see if there’s stock locally.

I use w760 and it works good. (6 creed)Superformance be a notch up in speed. Just start a bit lower than the 80gr data.
Staball6.5 be another good one. Never used it myself. I just use belmont 760 wherever I can. Just went up in price from $40 to a whopping ,$50 per can

18" is unfortunate, but it is what it is.... am running 2206H behind 85gn Sierra Sp and 87gn Vmax for excellent velocities - running 2209 and or Re22 behind 95gn Berger and 95gn SST. Re22 gives up a comfortable 3050fps at 3/4" out of 20". I think you might have to do a deal on the forum to get powder unless you run sub 90gn loads on 2206H. 85gn Sierra Sp kills deer and small pigs just fine as does their 85gn Hp. 87gn Berger and 87gn Hornady Hp kills Bill, opps I meant bigger deer, just fine too. No need to run heavy for cartridge, 90gn Hot cor or 90 Swift for tough bullets that deliver on closer shots on bigger tougher animals if inside 100 a lot.

H4350 is same as 2209; just relabeled by Hodgdon. Consider H414 also as its close to W760.

purity sure H414 and W760 are the same. load data is the same. I've used that for 58-87 gr bullets in my 243. probably at its best with bullets between 70-90 gr.
I see this new powder StaBALL 6.5 is showing a big speed advantage in some 243 loads.
Ie 80gr bullets at 3500 and 70gr bullets at 3700fps, that's fair rocking along.

@mopheadrob Well look at this, we only just talked about powder for your 243, and a thread appears with the answers !

Yes, I'd read it... I almost grabbed some W760 last time I was in GW but it would have meant working up yet another load (I've already got loads with 2209 & 2213sc). If I'm going to go down that track, I want to do it with whatever powder will work best in the 7WSM. Also +/- 90 grain projectiles seem to be the tipping point between recommended powders in this cartridge. I'm running the 95 grain Targex.
