there are quite a number of .25 cal for sale on trademe at the moment...most vastely overpriced but they do still pop up.

I'm encouraged by all the .25 enthusiasm.

Last time we had a flurry of new cartridges, especially ones beginning with C, the entire shooting community had collective apoplexy. Hornady was just a marketing stunt factory and nothing was ever, ever going to be as good as the 6.5x55 Swede... EVER.

(And a lot of shooters were suddenly regarded as homosexual hipsters, which was a bit of a stretch but oh well.)

Hahaha, maybe Im "trans" - I've got a 25GT dummy case to hand and have checked it for feeding etc, however it's looking like it'll be too long for the action to be optimal. I'm also thinking that we are likely to have a fairly narrow range of the "new" high BC bullets actually make it here.

So I ordered 6mm GT dies as a place holder and to see how brass forming goes (my rifle won't be getting fed $3 a pop brass to lose out on the hill).

Thinking about the .25 Creedmoor, should it become a factory round I wonder if the shoulder will need to be moved back to stop a 6.5 round chambering as happened with the .280 Rem and 7mm WSM. These had the shoulder moved forward to stop them chambering in the .270's.
