What do folks use for high bc long range pills for 270 cal ? Hornady offering is anemic, seems they’ve chosen to ignore the good ol 270 ?

Both proven long range harvesters of all our deer species that suit factory rifling twists and magazine internal length restrictions
You'll need a 9 twist or faster to shoot the 170s. 150 LRAB have always been good for me, or the 145 eld
Using 150gn speer btsp currently they hold enough velocity out to 630yards for the projectile to work out of my 20" barrel.
I'm giving the 145gn Sierra Gamechanger a go next
I've got some Berger 130g classic hunter you can have for cheap. Brought them off here to try and they've sat on the shelf as I went for monos and bonded instead
Nothing anemic about the 145gr eldx or 150lrab performance. As far as the heavies, really only have the 165gr lrab and 170 EOL Berger.
It’s the Hornady offering in 270 that’s anemic, not the specific pill. Nothing added in 160 class & no ELDMs, etc.Quote:

Yes but how far do you intend on pushing it, I run the 145 out to 500m and it's very effective. I would however be all over an eldm if they brought one out.Quote:
