    270win and AR2217 powder info

Hi all, I’ve got a mate that wants me to reload for his 270win and with the powder shortage all I can find is AR2217. Is anyone using this power in this calibre? Or got a recommendation on available powder. Will be using 140gr / 150gr projectiles for tahr.

    Cheers

Hodgdon h4831sc has a good rep and is available in a few stores around here (don't know about over your way).

Yup I got super accurate results with 2217 in a 270win with 140gn bergers, from memory the velocity was pretty good too

58 or 59g of ADI 2217 for 140 grainers in long COL ammo in long throated tikkas and Sakos

    Work up to this load

2217 is probably the most temp stable powder on this planet

My load for my ex model 70 winchester was 62gn seated at 2.834" ogive length which gave me an avg velocity of 3005fps with an es of 12fps it was consistently a 1/4" moa for 3 round 100 yard groups one of the most accurate rifles I've ever owned....and sold

    Mainly for 140s and 150s?
    Not so good for 130s?
