It's a terrible name for starters :D I'd say a standard Blaser mag would do 3k without having to form cases?
@Dreamer might has some data.

Feckn gremlins are causing double posts :wtfsmilie:
Didn’t have it very long but was getting just over 3000fps with 162gr in a 24” tube

@Dreamer Was that a 7mm Blaser mag ?
Can get 3000+fps with 180 ELDMs out of 24-26" standard 7mm Blaser :cool:
It does sound like a cool cal I have seen a few improved versions but wonder if the extra hassle would be worth the potential gain
Very keen to hear some real world results too @Kiwi Greg
I would have thought an easy way would be ask the guys that are running one unless it's some kind secret?
Eg cam how do you find your Saum and how does it go with what length barrel? Me good mate 22 inch tube 168 bergers and 66 Gn 2217 and 2930 fps in my barrel throated to suit
Not asking for any trade secrets just an actual interest in this 7 Blaser and wanted to know a bit more about them
7BM powderpuff 2217 pushes the 162 @3110fps. That’s not hot either so I’d say it would push a 180 to 3000.

Cheers Danny thanks for the info
Thanks for the info. Looks like it would be a great fit for the tikka.
Instead of a cartridge run at max to get decent velocity like the 7mm blaser go with the bigger 28 nosler run it well below max and achieve the same result and better barrel life if you were into shooting steel with the knowledge that you can stoke it up ffor hunting at LR.
Rem700, 28" bartlein chambered in 7 blaser mag.
180eldm, 3150 fps 2225
195 eol, 3100 fps RL33
Round count approaching 1k, still shooting great, not chasing the lands yet.
Cool cartridge.
7 saum, 28" truflite
180eldm, 3000fps 2217
1/2 grain off my max, so probably in the 2900's with 26"
Awsome cartride!
@Tony930 how do you find the Blaser mag brass eg quality and strength?
Just get a 270 @camo wsm
Just get a 270 @camo wsm
@camo wsm neck it down to 27 Blaser Powderpuff or 6.8 Blaser Mag if you are metrically inclined
Pretty good, norma, readily available, some say its a little soft but haven't had any problems, up to 8 firings, had three slightly loose pockets (probably due to working up to pressure to find max)
69.6 2225, hit pressure at 71.2, was running 70 fps slower when first ran this load, don't know if was because it was lower temps (winter) or barrel was new, maybe a bit of both.
Usual stuff, each rifle different, work up.
My data is very similar to Tonys and Kiwi Gregs... Had kiwi Greg sort a 7mm Blaser for me little while back and its very accurate as long as i do my part :D 28" Proof Research tube. Using Retumbo I started seeing signs of preasure at 71gr but best accuracy was at 70gr for my rifle at least. As with any load development be safe and work up from a lower powder charge. That data is for the 180 eld-m which I am getting great accuracy with. Havent cronied lately but ballistics program works with 3050fps set in it. Verified out to 870 yards, semi verified to 1180 yards, need to revisit that when there isnt 15+mph wind howling....
