My old Lyman manual gives some uefull data. Barrel length is 22".

For the 155 grain cast which would be close to your 160 grain:
Start 19 grains of IMR4227 for 1,628 fps
Max 24 grains of IMR4227 for 1,934 fps
Max for 150 grain Speer jacketed from IMR data is 23.5 grains of IMR4227 for 2,090 fps at 37,700 CUP.
Start 24 grains of IMR4198 for 1,818 fps
Max 28 grains of IMR4198 for 2,032 fps
Max for 150 grain Speer jacketed from IMR data is 30 grains of IMR 4198 for 2,355 fps at 39,600 CUP.

For 231 grain cast
Start 17 grains of IMR4227 for 1,413 fps
Max 22 grains of IMR4227 for 1.689 fps
Start 21 grains of IMR4198 for 1,554 fps
Max 25 grains of IMR 4198 for 1,769 fps

I don't have pressure data for the 220 grain projectile but max for the 180 jacketed is 23 grains of IMR 4227 and 29.5 grains of IMR4198.

I have used 32 grains of AR2206H with the 150 grain jacketed in my .30-40 Martini which worked well but 28 grains smoked thw cases full length IMR gives 36 grains of IMR4895 as max for 2,435 fps and 39,700 CUP. These have not been shot over the chrono yet.

With ADI powders AR2205 is close to IMR4227, AR2207 close to IMR4198 and AR2206H close to IMR4895.
