I have a bit of info to offer. I shoot a 300 Blaser Magnum ( sometimes ) and have a few loads I can use.
What barrel are you shooting, and what length and twist rate ? My info may not be directly applicable to you and I am not giving a recommendation, only guidance as to what you might decide for your OWN load development.
My rifle is a Tikka TX3 rebarreled to 300 Blaser Magnum with a 24 inch, fluted, Bradley barrel ( slightly heavier contour ) with 1:10 Twist. Everything else about the rifle is factory standard.
One load I have uses the Hornady ELD-X 178 gn but with AR2213sc which I thought gave more consistency overall compared to other powders I tried. Had I not settled on AR2213sc I probably would have used AR2217 79.50 gns which gave very acceptable accuracy.
The load data I would have used:
    Case: Norma
    Primer: Federal 215 magnum
    Powder: AR2217
    Charge: 79.50 gns
    COAL: 85.30 - 85.40 mm ( fits Tikka magazine )
    Av. MV: 2985 fps

    Hope that helps.
Perhaps it's just my rifle but I've also found it's very happy shooting other bullets and I have loads for Sako Hammerhead 180 gn, Remington Bronze Point 150 gn and Hornady Interbond 150 gn. If you get no satisfaction with the Hornady ELD-X 178 gn you might find trying other bullet weights does the trick. I'm picking though you could find the ELD-X pretty good. The ones I use shoot very accurately for me.
    Cheers

Hi, thanks so much for that .
I'm running a m77 mk2 with 25 inch hugh Bradley with a 1/10 twist. Guessing our chambers will be identical.
    Norma brass
    Fed 215 mag primers
    Ar2217
    178 eldx
If ive measured correctly seating depth of 84mm coal gives me about 20 thou jump which is where idd like to start.
All I could come up with was a start point of 73 gn and work up from there. If your running 79.5 that's a lot of working up so may jump ahead a little on the charge.
    Thanks

In my chamber / throat I got lands contact at COAL 87.00 mm so the cartridge seems OK with the jump from my current COAL. I prefer my cartridges fit the rifle magazine. I didn't specify any throat measurement when I asked Hugh to make my barrel but sent a few dummy cartridges at my intended COAL and he worked it out from there.
I commenced making ladder loads at 75.40 gns, giving me approx 2890 fps. I noted that I intended going up to 82.30 gns but stopped 79.90 gns because I think that was a slightly compressed load. I don't mind a load being lightly compressed but won't use loads that are compresswed beyond that.

Would be good to know your results after you get some rounds on target.

So finally got out to the range today to do some testing with the 300 blaser.
    178 eldxx
    Fed 215 primers
    Norma brass
    Ar 2217
Started of at 75grns (5 rounds) each and worked my way upto 79.5, was starting to see a few pressure signs at 79 grns and had a heavy bolt lift at 79.5 so pretty sure I'm maxed out.
Good news was at 77.7 grns was shooting a fraction over 1/2 inch group @ 100 yrds with a 3260 fps average.
So more that happy with the results so I'll run with if for a bit and see what happens.
