Thread: 308 Super X Subsonics

Has anyone used the new super x subsonic with the new RCE projectile that's supposed to open at sub speeds? The factory ammo is the stuff I'm talking. Or alternatively has anyone got in the maker expanding bullets?

I use them - I head shoot though - works well for that

Good to hear a few may go over super sonic before invest too much. Won't stay with heads shots however as otherwise I can do handloads for much cheaper with cast subs. Plus not a massive headshot fan as Ive seen too many go wrong.

Havent ever shot for heart lung?

No it’s either quiet and aimed or supers

Fair mate looking to use it over a dog and a little miss on the heads potentially dodgy. Might have to have a play with making ballistics gel and test a few boxes.

I shoot over my dog with full power ammo and suppressor,she doesn’t mind the bang,I went down the subsonic rabbit hole a while ago but went back to hi power ammo for deer,lots more room for error and unless the dog is holding onto the deer you are shooting they don’t mind the bang I find.

I intend to mostly shoot over the dog with supers. But have a few places that I cull in that would like to have subs as an option. I just don't want to have to load subs.

Sorry to hijack this post but has anyone had success with .308 subs on fellow deer. Particularly on heart/lung shots? Would hate to just wound one and leave it
