G'day has anyone tried the 110ttsx in a 308. I have heard that the 130 is good but wonder if the 110 might be better as more velocity?
Running a 16 inch barrel, have cfe223 and win760 to try a load.

I think you will find both those powders a bit slow for 110g or even 130 gr especially the 760
You need to be looking at 2206h H335 BLC2 8208.
H335 and 2206h go good with the 130s
Running 48 06h for 2850 from 16in savage
P.S. Started with 50gn for 3000 but 48 more accurate thats both 130gn
Just ordered 110 grain. Thought I would be different
I get excellent accuracy from 45g 2306h in 16in barrel, not sure of speed but has killed well at bush ranges and little recoil,be ther accuracy than the 130s in my gun.
Greetings Gkp,
ADI/ Hodgdons give data for the TSX 110 grain FB in their on line data. The best of the ADI/ Hodgdon powders seem to be Benchmark 2/ Benchmark and AR2219/ H322. Barnes also lists data for Benchmark. A couple of items to remember are that you need to use specific data for the Barnes projectile as they raise pressure and need to be seated with a jump to the lands of at least .05 inches (1.25mm). The Barnes web site gives some data on this.
Happy loading and regards, Grandpamac.
Yep I think Barnes recommend 2.735 as col for the 110s
54 grains of cfe223 is going good with 110ttsx, 0.5 moa. Haven't chrony
Run the 110's in my kimber with BM2, recoil is much more pleasant than the 150 grains in this featherweight. Animals have all dropped on the spot or within 20m, only shot sika with that load so nothing bigger than 75kg-80kg or so. However judging by the pass throughs in virtually all cases larger game should be no worries. I was actually quite surprised how fast these put animals down with typical chest shots. At bush ranges where velocity is high I think you will find it hard to beat if you want low recoil and high velocity. Their BC isn't terrific though so might want to choose a different projectile if your chasing fallow or chamois in the windy open country down your way.
Cheers @Calikiwi
I am also running them in a kimber. I intend to dual load. Have a good 168 eldm load for longer shots.
Like the coppers so I am not feeding the family lead
54 gr is listed as max for the 130gr at 3200fps from 24" and isnt listed for 110.
At a wild guess Id say your probably around 2800-2900fps.
I shoot the 130 at 3k with 49gr h335

Yes I doubt you will have trouble with either. 130gr is light for calibre in .308

its a funny thing when you get into using monos...if you can stoke the lighter ones along fast enough safely, the heavies will never (on paper anyway) catch up energy wise, well not untill you get out past 3-400 yards which isnt really mono territory anyway.
fella in states did it all on graph with 270 the 110 Vs 130grn thing and the 110grn won hands down..I queried it and looked into it and it stacked up. from the few animals Ive dropped with the 110s in 270 I do think they rather good...the 30 cal version SHOULD be at least as good...
man you fellas are stoking the ol 308 up hot.....
I used to run the 130's. 50gr of h335 going 3010fps out of an 18". I found them to be the most devastating projectile sub 200y, all shots passed straight through even on Sambar. I've always wondered about the 110s being more effective getting them going faster.
Yep I ran the 130ttsx at a bit over 3200fps from 22" shot quite a few reds with it the furtherst being around 350y, over 250y I had slightly delayed kills and used a Amax load for open country.
Never recovered one in over 30 reds shot tho I did recover the blue plastic tip once.
They need impact velocity to work good.
Yes for sure the hardest hitting bit once it slows down I had the same with slower kills especially on reds. I'll try find some photos tomorrow. A fallow buck I shot at 150y had a beer can entry hole hit then a red yearling in the vitals at 250y was still very alive when I got up to it. Have since gone to 168eldms since moving South.
@Lucky All good in my rifle even at 50gn
