.308 WIN Sub Sonic Load - Nosler 30 cal 220 gr Projectiles

Has any one got a load for these projectiles.

    I'll be using a Browning X-Bolt SS - 22" barrel, 1:12 twist, DPT 30 cal magnum suppressor.

    Nosler data:

    https://shop.nosler.com/review/product/list/id/13661/

    30 caliber
    220 grain (14.3 grams)
    Ballistic tip
    Round Nose
    SD 0.331
    BC 0.472
    Part # 30181

If no specific load - suggestions for a powder and primer would be appreciated - thanks in advance.

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

not sure your 1-12 twist will work with these bullets if you want any kind of range . . . this guy with much faster twist barrels had trouble

" Couldn't get these bullets to stabilize in either 300 BO rifle. One is a 16 inch Ruger with 1x7 twist, other a custom built 8.5 inch AR pistol with 1x7 twist. Consistent keyholes at 50 yards and that's with numerous powder charges and 2 different powders. "

    good luck . . . R

Trail Boss is the easiest powder to load subsonic, With cast bullets 8.5 grains gets you in the ball park with jacketed you need a little more try 12.00 grains
be careful getting a jacketed bullet stuck it is a major problem and requires a trip to a Gunsmith,
Use standard primers magnums are no use and may cause pressure problems and don't drill out flash holes causes pressure problems just neck size cases
    and treat them as normal,
Hogdgons formula for working out a start load for Trail Boss is to fill the case to the base of the neck with powder the start load is 70% of this,
Do not compress Trail Boss or use fillers to fill the case accuracy will go away big time, and don't worry about high B.C bullets it means nothing at subsonic
velocity, think of it as a big .22RF trajectory is about the same just with more knock down,

    Good luck

You are probably right that's why I only have the 151 grain HP don't want people moaning that my bullets won't shoot.

I shoot a 210grain lead projectile in a 10" twist 308 with 10 grains of ap70 or unique powder. Stabilizes fine with 1" group at 50m . Velocity is 1300fps. I think a bit of experimenting with a trailboss load will get you what you want.

@KiwiinSeattle if the Noslers don't workout then use the 151gr cast hollowpoints that shooternz sells. They are proven to expand and kill at subsonic velocities.

They must have used google translate for the traduction in French on that nosler box. It reads: This product contains some wire (as electric wire).

Been away fishing for a few days so just catching up.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. I'll report back when we get a few loads sorted.
@mickyDuck - bought these in the U.S. while on holiday a few weeks ago.

Be keen to hear the results,I use the 151g pills shooternz sells on here but being so short sometimes they don’t feed well from the mag in my sako A7,something longer like those might be the go.

Be sure to do your 1st shots with out the suppressor mounted , and look for signs that the bullet is not stabilising , ie key holes , also remove bolt after each shot & check the bullet has left the bore , ie so you can see thru it before firing another shot , also check tgt , at reduced loading its easy to shoot & think you have missed , when in fact the bullet has had so little powder or primer to NOT leave the barrel , if the bullet is still in when you load and fire another , at the least you have just destroyed the rifle , at worst it may injure you .
the reason for starting with out suppressor , is to avoid wrecking the suppressor .
Take your time in attempting this .
