I wonder if the 307's would stabilise in a 1:10 twist, could be good for my 338-06 if I wanted to go subsonic

Are they taking pre orders in Aussie already? I thought this was due to be released next year. Or are you an importer?

No idea, but generally if there is a listing on the Hornady website I can place an order locally, how long they take to arrive is another thing....

Finally got round to feeding the 338 FARC some Power Pro 300MP, pretty much equivalent to Lil gun in terms of performance.

Started low as there is zero data for the 161gr OEP and this powder combo, accuracy is really really good just seeing how far this round can be pushed. Longer throat is starting to pay off with no pressure signs at 2340fps, I've still got another gn or so of capacity so 2400fps plus should be finally cracked next range session. I'll then retest against N110 and 2205.

    20.6gn 1955fps
    21.8gn 2027fps
    22.6gn 2144fps
    23.7gn 2171fps
    24.6gn 2274fps
    25.5gn 2342fps

these are the averages to date, will try and knock over the last of these loads this week coming

Unlucky Bugga, still yet to christen mine, though I've had stalkable pigs at 500m and 3 Red stags in velvet last weekend none of it felt right....

Shot a big hind last night at 140m. I had to finish her once I found her as I only got one lung and not the other (3/4 forward shot). I shot a few goats as well but did not have time to otopsy them as I was too busy retrieving the hind . Shot placement is still primordial.

Well the party has come to end, with only 0.5gn of powder space left over I was fully expecting some erratic speeds and an increase bolt lift. Speeds hit 2499.8fps at 27.3gn with a subsequent 40fps speed drop. With 2500fps within sight I let the barrel cool before getting a final round off..

There's a pretty good accuracy node back at 2430fps which I'll be using over the Xmas/Jan break
