Thread: .577/450 Martini

Ok so at the Ruahine auction I went off track big time and purchased a Martini Henry mkiii rifle.

It’s in excellent condition with a very good bore. I would love to know where it’s been safely locked away for the last 140 odd years….

I reload for many weird and wonderful calibre but this one takes the cake.

So I’m going to need the following.

577/450’Cases or some 24 gauge brass shot shells I can form. Nobody in nz seems to have any in stock.
A set of Lee 577/450 dies
Rockchucker press ( as my existing press can’t accomodate the oversized dies)
Suitable Bullet mold
Some 1f black powder (holysmoke might be an option but can’t find any 1f via the stockists.

Some patience….trial and error…

If anyone knows of any available gear to reload .577/450 could you please let me know. Happy to purchase and/or trade.
