6.5 284 load info
Stag, Yes typo, 48.5 not 58.5! I went up to 50 grains of 2209 and 51 of 2213 with both 140 A max and Berger VLDs.
VLDs shot a bit better for me then. 2209 loads were starting to show pressure (ejector marks) at 49 gns.
2213 never gave the accuracy for me.
However a 2217 load with some 140 Amal’s I made up recently looks best of all.
Rifle is a Rem 700 long action, hart match barrel, no3 contour I guess, Rem Magnum profile now at 24”. In a mcm 75 pattern stock. It has a nxs 5-22x50 mil/mil mar set up on it. Weighs about 4.6 kg. I use it for range work, steel and the odd fallow in open country.
Pre lockdown I was hitting 2moa steel plates at 1200 in a ~20km full value wind with 10 meters of windage. Impressive cartridge for sure.

@Dicko, how much 2217 do you run with the 140’s? I run mine at 55 grains

Walker, there are two nodes with 2217 and 140’s commonly reported. One at around 54/55 and the other two grains higher. I’m loading 54 at the moment. This node appears broad, up to 55.5 in my rifle. 1:8 twist Hart.
Velocity will be back on my 09 load (2900 fps) but Lapua brass is pretty bloody dear now.
