    6.8spc

Anyone run one of these? I know they are a popular (ish) choice on the AR platform, and designed to be efficient in a short barrel. Wonder how one would go as a compact bushpig style rifle? 110-130gr Barnes would probably be the go according to what I have read on American forums guys pushing the 110 at 2900+ from a 16" ar rifle where pressure is the limiting factor, should be able to stoke em up a bit more in a bolt rifle?

110gn is better. 130gn may be too slow for the Barnes to expand.
I looked into a 6.8 upper for my AR, as a few are for sale. Of course 110gn .277 projectiles have the BC of a brick.
6.5 Grendel is a far more efficient round, so built that instead.

All those with dogs waiting no longer fear death. Those with many dogs waiting even welcome it in it's time.

Yep had one in an ar shot a few fallow with it using sierra soft point 110 from memory.

Wouldn't see much point in building one in a bolt gun??? Why not a 270br to be really weird???

I have an AR upper, think it was Perazzi's one.

Did some work on it to get it going better, shoots about 1-1.5 moa, shot plenty of goats & a few pigs with it.

I use 110 Vmaxes they aren't going that quick but they sure work well ;-)

Oh CRAP does that mean I own a 270

    Nah its a 6.8 Bro

Might have to change your forum name Ryan.
    I don't think @6.8_Songhurst is taken.

    I'm depressed just reading this
110gr 6.8cal@2900 and this is good, you could probably get a 30 30 to go that fast with that weight. [Ish]

6.5 boring, true, boringly accurate. I understand a man needs a challenge but, wouldn't it be easier to keep the 6.5's and go buy a staffy to train to fetch your wounded ducks.

Your not on your own Ryan, 270's are very efficient as are many other calibers. lucky well all don't like the same ones it would be boring then with no one to sling the shit at.
