    7 Rem mag 162eldx

Got these loaded to mag length in a tikka @3.33 inches.
Ladder test with 2217 from 70 to 72gr.

Appreciate a head check from those loading this bullet to mag length as I'm seating the bullet a bit deeper than I would otherwise without OAL constraints.

Ran some ladder tests with my mate today in his howa 24 inch tube
Ar2225 norma brass and federal 215m 2.425 oal about 20-30 thou jump had no way of messureing accuracy so just a swag
Went from 71.5-73.5 working in .5’s

    Settled on
72gn at 3002 fps avg es of 10 (39 fps faster than adi got from the test barrel with 1.5gn more powder ) I think it’s the 1st time ive beaten the manuals listed loads at below max)

Accuracy wasn’t awesome mostly arround 1moa at 100 yards
With 72gn being the stand out at 0.8moa

Could probably get it better with more tweeks but it will have to do for now as he’s flying down to try smoke a thar next week
Will certainly do the job for the distance’s he shoots

With 2217 that 70-72gn should be near a sweet spot. It is very good powder in 7mmRM.

I feel your pain re mag length issues, my A7 has the same problem. Still shoots better than I can haha.
Loading them at mag length 3.340"
    I landed on: federal brass
    162 ELD-X
    CCI 250
    AR 2217 72.5 grains
gets me 3060fps from the 24 inch barrel.

Skip to 3:50 in this video of mine to see a small trick I found for getting more length on your projectiles in a T3x magazine for 7RM.

I’m running 72g 2225 with 162 AMax. Funny how that 72g load generally is a sweet spot regardless of quite a few things.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds
