Ammodirect says this is recommended for 1:10 or faster as well.
Sounds like you guys have had success with slower twist though. A bit baffling for a reloading noob like me but I might give it a crack anyway.

Look at projectiles...it's short n stubby.its overall length is not long,so it stabilises easier...taken to extremes a round ball needs bugger all twist 1:50 sort of deal . A blunt ended wad cutter needs a little bit more to stop it going end for end.....same as a gridiron football. The new sleak super high BC projectiles need more spun per weight cause they are longer. I've never got my head around it entirely but by removing plastic tip from nose the projectile needs less spun cause it's shorter...that does my head in as plastic tips were put there to help expansion,protect tip from damage and up the BC. Just know the three projectiles listed above will work.
From what I’ve gleaned off the interweb, they were designed for 1:14 barrels and have a shorter ogive. I don’t know the ballistic ramifications of that but the history of their use in slow twist 22cals goes back a lot of years. Plenty of punch in the 55’s and they’re cheap but looking forward to playing with the 60-70grainers. Seating depth and fitting them in the Tikka and Rem788 mags may be the limitations.
As an aside, the Nick Harvey reloading manual from ‘93 shows loads up to 70gn for the 1:14 222’s and 1:12 223’s.
Magazine length shouldn't be an issue cause projectiles is short...only way to know is loadem up and try.

That data is for the .222 Rem Magnum not the .222 Remington. A different case bigger than the .222 Rem.Quote:

Not many have heard of the .222 Rem Mag let alone seen one. The cartridge came out in 1958 and was effectively obsolete by 1964.Quote:
