    7mm eld-x on applied ballistics

Just finished load development with these in my 280ai, getting 9mm 5 shot groups at 3190fps so bloody happy with that.

I like to use the custom ballistic curves that applied ballistics have available, but I can only find a curve for 150 eld-M on the list. I could be wrong or but does 7mm eld-M not even exist? Maybe they've just listed the X as M by mistake? Anyone know?

    Yeah I know this, but applied ballistics has listed a 150gn eld-M, and not a 150gn eld-X. As far as I know they don't make a 7mm 150gn eld-M.

Never seen applied ballistics but guessing that they will show the bullets dimensions. If that's the case it should show length and maybe boat tail length, tip and bearing lengths. That would allow you to measure your bullets and compare the two and see if they're the same. A pain to do but should work if no one else can confirm.

    Pretty sure you're correct.
Looks like applied ballistics may have just miss labelled it but I don't own the program. I'm guessing it still tells you what the bc is though and should be around .574 g1 from what I've read

Having trouble finding any info on the actual bullet. Here's a couple of screenshots of the differences between the custom curve given on the "eld-m" vs my data input with hornady's eld-x BC's

Excuse my ignorance but do you not now shoot a few various ranges, calibrate and validate?

I would just some targets and find what calculations work best in your rifle. Hornady has a ballistic calculator on their website if you want to have a look there.

I brought the same curve, I think it is just a Typo, I have been meaning to contact applied ballistics about it but haven't got around to it yet.

Cheers Nibblet. Yep I think so. I'm not a BR shooter or anything and in all likelihood I'm only ever going to shoot out to 700 max. Just thought I'd note the problem for reference. @winaa yeah I'm 90% sure it's just a typo. The difference between the 2 lots of data I've got at 500m is only 1". Just. Spotted a bunny at 492m - 8km crosswind... It's dead, so can't be too far out

    Good shot.

If you have a place you can shoot some rocks or cow shit etc out to a km or more you should be able to adjust/calibrate it nicely for the longer shots.

I wish I lived down your way and could snipe rabbit's all day.

Top notch winaa, much appreciated! Might have to go collect the bunny just to see how spot on, but I think I've only got myself to blame for any missed Tahr this weekend
