    7mm Rem Mag or 284 Win.

    Hello chaps

    Some input from those in the know would be appreciated. I am in the market for a rifle for Reds out to 500 or so yards using 162 to 168s. I will most likely go to a T3X. I was going to do the 284 Win conversion thing (I have had a 284 before and am familier with the round). But then I thought for the sake of a bit more powder why not just get a 7mm rem mag and be done with it.
    I will take the barrel down to 20 or 21 inches max and suppress.
    Anyone with a short 7mm Rem Mag out there? Loads, velocity, any input really.

    If 500 yards is your true limit then 284 is more than enough. But you can buy a factory rem mag so save a few hundred on the conversion.

    buy what floats your boat mate, if you reload and don't mind getting brass etc 284
    I have a chopped R.E.M. Mag and like having the ability to stretch the legs.
    Went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn't find any.

    I'm running a 7mm Rem Mag with a 21.5" barrel. Spits out Berger 168VLDs at 3050fps

    I have a basically brand new T3x in 7mm Rem Mag here, still in box with owners manual etc. I purchased it to build a custom rifle on, but im now going in a different direction, so the T3x is surplus to requirements.

    It can come with a DPT 20 moa rail and 30mm Weaver rings to suit the rail. Send me a PM if interested.

    A 20" 7RM can still push a 162gr at 3k, just as Kooza's and Dorkus's do
