    7mm rem mag barrel twist

    Have a Mauser M18 in 7mm rem mag arriving, they run a 1/9.5 twist barrel, I have bought some sierra 175 gamekings am I pushing the envelope to much in expecting them to stabilse? I'm wanting a scrub bull and camel load.

    Measure how long they are and look up either the jbm or berger stability calculator.

    Should be ok. Plenty of people running 180 class pills in 9.5 twist rem mags.

    Go for it, unless they are crazy long you'll stabilise them.

    Velocity will be your friend here to get the rpm up as well.

    I've had success with 175 ELD-X in my Sako A7 with 9.5 twist, those 175s will be awesome on big animals.

    @nor-west I was running 175gr Matchkings in my 7mm08 9.5twist at 2500fps and they stabilized fine and they are longer than the Gamekings . I was using them out to 600yds with no issues.
