Thanks for the thoughts and insights guys. A great site for getting info and learning. I'll get some A-max's loaded up and see how they go.

The point with this ramble is this, we know when we sit in possie "X" that we have a 910yrd shot, 17 deg uphill, morning 3mph R to L breeze, saum is pushing the 162 a-max at 3080fps. In the afternoon its 3mph L to R so either way we have approx 8-10 inches of wind drift, and when we think we have none, we dont !!!!! there's still a sneaky 3-4 inches of drift in the obvious direction, no doubt borne from a slight air current at the top of the projectiles flight path. So we know what to expect, and after filming a lot of dead rocks, and deer, we know what to expect from our wind blown projectile.

I'm used to long-range hunting (400-700m) with my .270, so I know about wind One time I was shooting across a gully, I had a 15k L-R wind, 550m shot so I doped the scope. Just as I was about to pull the trigger I realized the bush on the other side was blowing R-L. Ended up aiming dead on and got a clean kill...tho not exactly where I wanted it.
I've just got my 7mm and it puts great little holes in paper> I just want to know the pill is going to do the job when it gets there
