I have Tracey Shorts one right here in front of me. I'm actually about to send it back to him. It's a pretty tight neck although its set up to use the 162's. I will measure the OAL tonight when I get home.

Mine is a match reamer, and has a .319 neck. Setup for 300SAUM Norma brass necked down. Needs a very light neck turn.

I haven't tried a 180gr in a case to see how it measures up, but with a 162gr amax it measures 2.995 OAL to the lands. My reamer specs show a throat of 2.250" and leade of .188 if that is any help?
If it's not a first round hit you need to practice more

Thanks for the info, a .319 neck would be too loose for my liking the nosller brass with a 180 Berger in it measures .3142 with a micrometer I normally keep my clearance to 3 thou

What action, barrel, stock are you running on your F class 7mmsaum and what 180gr bread of bullet?

I have two incarnations in the pipeline at the moment, Stolle/Krieger/Shehane tracker and a Barnard/Trueflight/McMillan A5
as for the 180s Bergers and SMK's to try

DAF, What fps are you getting with the 180's in the saum? Im getting 3007fps as an average, with an ES of 15fps.

Actual projectile drop at 1000yrds confirms this speed, and is the way I have always measured FPS, having never trusted a chrony.

Your Kreiger combo sounds like another winner !

    Hi,
My new 7mmSAUM reamer arrived too late for the build so I currently have a 7/300wsm which burns 68gr of 2217 to produce 3140fps from a 32inch trueflight.
I have a magnum bolt coming for my Stolle and that will become the
    Stolle/Krieger/Shehane tracker chambered in
7mmSAUM (throated for the 180's) once its put together I will let you know what it does

I successfully formed 50 7mm SAUM cases from some Federal 300 WSM I had surplus and couldn't sell on Trademe.

Interesting thing that I discovered by chance is that the Federal 300 WSM cases miked at under .550 at the case head, and for all intents and purposes were identical to my piece of 7mm Nosler SAUM brass.
