Thread: 7mm08 vs 284win

I've got 2 x 284 wins, a 17" and a 22".

However.........I'm going to be sensible and say, for shooting deer to 500 yards max, just stay with what you have. A 162 eldm at 2630 fps is arriving at 500 yards just a tad under 2,000 fps. That bullet will perform fine at that terminal velocity.

Unless of course you want to go thru the exercise of re-chambering your barrel and buying new dies and new brass and likely new powder too, which is not that easy in today's environment.
