    7x64 Loading

    Good day

Does anyone load 150gr bullets in their 7x64? If so, at what velocity and why the specific bullet compared to other 150gr?

Thank you for your reply, chainsaw. Do you know at how many fps they exit the barrel? Was the 2217 a dietary preference for the rifle?

I tend to load 160s. 2217 is likely too slow, with 162 amax I basically use all I can jam in the case, and it’s still a mild load (shoots well, so I haven’t messed with it.

    I shoot 140s from the CZ537 (@nor-west ‘s old rifle). But that’s with 4831.

Around 2780-2800 fps from memory, and relatively mild load. But very accurate in this rifle at 0.4moa. The 150 gn partitions have excellent terminal performance on all game you’ll encounter in NZ from up close to 350-400 yards.

That's sounds like a perfectly deadly combination.

Thanks, nor-west. May I ask why you settled on the Gamekings?
