    Belmont powder.

Morning all, wonder if anyone has an opinion regards the pros and cons of AR2205 vs Belmont Magnum Pistol powder in 44 Mag through a 23 " Rossi?

Belmont Magnum Pistol is the exact same powder made by St Marks Powder Company and sold by Hodgdon as H110 and by Winchester as Win296.

You won't find better than that for .44 Magnum (or .357 Magnum for that matter).

Also, Belmont Magnum Pistol sell for about $50 for 500 grams where as 2205 is about $70 for 500 grams.

You would have to be a bit mental to spend $20 more on a bottle of 2205 over H110/Win296.

Thanks for that. H110 usually needs a Magnum primer, I read. Belmont the same, or will a standard CCI set it off okay?

It happens in a 23"tube as well. Perhaps Belmont will burn more clean. Time will tell.
