Copper cleaning solvent? What is the best copper cleaning solvent?
Boretech works well
Boretech Eliminator
Boretech cu2+
Boretech
I had a kit from Balistol and in it was a copper solvent that proved to be very good Robla solo MIL it was called. Had that strong ammonia whiff to it.
The thing I find with copper is theres no substitute for grease, elbow grease. Lots of patching and scrubbing, and using a borescope. When its really bad use a paste and get it back to metal.
Hoppes is a great one you are able to leave in the barrel until its time to go shoot again. A patch through before you go out and ut will invariably come out green still.
Wipe-out Foam Bore cleaner , Barnes CR-10 Cleaner , Remington 40x bore cleaner
Barnes CR10.
Sweets 7.62……will even clean your sinuses if you leave your nose hovering over the barrel at the same time:XD:
Doubt you can get it now though!
Ok bore scopes change your life!
Thought I would clean my 6.5x55 tikka.
Started with wipe out an d accelerator twice.
Bore scope still shit loads of carbon.
Then carb out on bronze brush and drill.
Nope still carbon.
CLR on a brush and drill, nope still there.
JB bore paste next.
Job done.
Just ordered another bottle as my old one 20yrs old and getting low.
So the take out of this little exercise is I would of assumed that my rifle was clean after 2 wipe outs and carried on.
The bore scope has changed my thinking big time about cleaning.
At $170 for a flexible teslong I reckon it's an essential.
Go halves with a mate if a bite tight for loot.
It's the best loot I have spent in a long time.

CLR needs a little time to soak a little. I shove a patch right where rifiling starts and supersaturate it. leave it for 20 mins then remove it and clean as normal.
Seems to help with very little scrubbing.
They say you should not use CLR but for me it has worked really well BUT I would not leave it soaking overnight perhaps.
Its also the worlds fasted bluing or cerekote remover.
I'm hearing you!
I used mechanical with CLR Bure brush and drill.
I have read enough about I got a bit nervous to let it soak to long.
I think my rifle was pretty carbon edge up to.
I have never had a look with the bore scope as never thought I needed to!
