    Caliper recommendations

Hi guys, can anyone recommend a decent set of calipers that are in the $100 and below price range? Thanks in advance

Insize Here I think I paid just under $100 18 months ago.

Very good quality in my opinion

I've bought several Shahe brand measuring tools from Aliexpress and have been impressed. Make sure you get them from the Shahe Official Store, as there are cheaper knockoffs. So far I've got a set of digital calipers and two dial gauges. They seem to give up very little in comparison to my mitutoyos and are much, much cheaper. But of course I'd still expect a higher chance of a dud than with name brand mitutoyos or starretts etc.

I’ve had the same Kinchrome ones for the last 5 years. Have never missed a beat and I’ve tried them against mates mitutoyo a couple of times, they’ve always matched up.

Yep I was recommended insize on here after a couple of Hornady ones clapped out early in the piece.

I have previously used older Mitutoyo callipers but the numbers on the screen are a bit small. So, I bought a calliper set through Aliexpress which I'm happy using: Shahe brand. It seems to be repeatably accurate (compared with a Mitutoyo micrometer) and it uses a large lithium battery which is very convenient in terms of battery life, compared to the smaller button lithium cells the other brands seem to use. From memory it was about $50. I think I bought it because it was the recommended brand/type from a previous calliper thread on this site.

What ever you buy make sure it also measures in fractions if you are remotely interested in vintage guns
