Bought a rifle off a cobber and was able to get out and test it today.
Fired a 160 cci subs testing it and had a say 1 in 25 maybe more fire but not cycle the action. Shots hit low seemingly under charged.
You could feel and hear a marked difference when they were fired.
Otherwise they went very well and accurate as usual.
Thought maybe I got a bad batch.
Fella I bought the rifle off says he had the same issue with around the same frequency.
Anyone else having the same issues?
What sort of rifle? I've put thousands of CCI subs through my 10/22 and never had an issue with them
Doubt it's the rifle as I have had it once or twice recently in my son's 795.
Its a marlin 60 DLX suppressed.
Impact goes 3-4" low as well.
I will put them over a chrony tomorrow to make sure.
I couldn't get .22lr to register on my magnetospeed
I have an old crappy optical one for pistol loads and such😆
My V2 sees 22s no probs. But, had to adjust bullets type to"slugs". Not sure what the V3 calls them.Quote:

Pull the bolt out and flat it with 1000 grit, rub down imperfections inside the receiver. Also, the heavier subs like win 42 have a bit more energy and cycle better.

Mate had a bad batch of CCI subs a little while ago. Suppose it happens.
I've noticed all the Norincos I've used prefer Winchester over CCI. Feeds better and shoots straighter.
My current 10/22 (I go through phases) prefers CCI. My first 10/22 hated the stuff.
Can't get up the range today due to weather. But it is not the rifle. It is a well maintained marlin 60 DLX.
Shoots like a small bore target rifle.
It is an under charged shell.
Bad batch I spose.
Will confirm on the chrony when the wheather clears.
How much of that batch have you got??
Weather is fairly fine up here in Gladstone (e: cloudy though, I guess it's the same down there, shit for a chrono)
One of my stainless 10/22's doesn't like CCI Subs, so I keep a healthy supply of Magtech subs handy for it, - they're not the most accurate out there, but they'll hit most things.

I've put 1000 rounds of CCI subs through my S/S 10/22 with only having issue with a mag that won't load them every time, don't use that mag any more everything now ok :thumbsup:
All American semiauto .22rf rifles are setup for American standard velocity ammo, velocity is around the 1100 - 1200fps of course they are not going to cycle with subs, that's why Winchester bought out the 42 grain bullet the answer is use decent ammo the cheap stuff just won't cut it.
Have put several thousand round of CCI Sub thru my Yankee 795 and I can count on 2 hands the number of times it has missed a beat. And then it has been because I haven't done my bit and kept it clean. It has the standard recoil spring - no softening mods to accommodate subs.
Win subs are just not accurate in it particular the last ones they released - thank goodness for that as they are expensive. Have had better success with Kewell Whisper which I have to cede are Winchester manufacture. The older Win subs though are brilliant in my EM. The only problem with CCI Subs and Standard is the very occasional unexplained shot that goes out of the expected group. For more serious shit I use SK. Tried some Mex Fiocchi the other day - shocking, but have heard others say they get good results.

My very first ever rifle i bought was a Ruger 10/22 SS, it was only 4 years ago. At the time i bought it i got 2 packs of Remington Golden "something" bulk ammo (525X), it was high velocity rounds and work perfect in the rifle, however the suppressor didn't make any difference because the velocity. I did try 4 days ago the Winchester 42gn subsonic and it also work "perfectly" in my CZ, very accurate, same as the CCI for that rifle.
In your case i think it is just a bad batch of ammo or just the need of a double check in your action(maybe a "deep cleaning").

Never had it happen before and have fired 10s of thousands of cci subs through it.
CCI is the only ammunition that shoots and works in my marlin. Everything else I have tried was shit. They are also the only subs that clycle my 226 mosquito reliably as well.
