So for all you inside cleaners.
Have you tested for any difference in velocity/ES or something?
And does sonic(or tumbling for that matter)work harden your brass.
Logic says it must but to what extent?
Stainless pin media works as advertised in my experience, both inside and out. I made up a tumbler as I thought the 'thumler model B' was over priced once landed in NZ.
I guess the actual measured performance difference between clean/dirty would be negligible.
I do it because I can and I want to keep my dies clean.
I agree, some peening must occur in tumbled brass but I haven't read anything so far to support shortening of the useful life of the case.
Cleaned up my BP brass in. Simple tumbler in the lathe at slow RPM, have tried rice with auto solve and worked well. Then got some walnut media so tried that, spun for half hour, not impressed back to rice mix. Could put some auto solve with the walnut but walnut is expensive, happy with the rice brew, except I have to polish of the residue cleaner.Attachment 16401Attachment 16402Attachment 16403Attachment 16404Attachment 16400Attachment 16405Attachment 16406Attachment 16407
