Almost 2 yrs to the day after ordering the final bits for my custom expanding 30cal subsonic bullets, they arrived!
Various punches made to spec, rebated boat tail dies and and few secret squirrel bits :)
Couple of weeks time I should have some to test and a few samples to send out to people to shoot live things with.
Should have put something up for size reference. The small punches are about cigi lighter size

I had larger cal stuff ordered also but cancelled it due to the only available jacketmaker that can do jackets big enough falling off the face of the planet and not wanting to invest $20k to do it myself

Depending on the process and projectile - yes
I need to look into the process more :D I'm still failing to see why the need for ultra high grade steel.

Obviously if it easy job we'd have dozens of guys making commercial dies and you wouldnt have to wait a couple years for them.
I mentioned before - 100k bullets from the dies - was a mistake - its 500,000 life from the set
And that's why the higher steel grade :D
I assume they use tool steel of some description, which can be pretty high grade stuff, don't want to do all that work to find an imperfection at the end of it.
