    Dent in case

.243 Winchester PowerPoint cartridge. I noticed a dent on the case shoulder where it gets smaller. The dent doesn’t look like a deep crease or crack. It’s not on the case head or near the rim, which would be more concerning. It’s also not at the neck where it grips the bullet, so accuracy may not be dramatically affected.
Should I skip it/send it back?
I can’t do photos on this yet, I’m too new.

Is it like a little ‘gully’ on the case shoulder?. That usually happens from too much sizing lube.

Interesting to hear about it happening from factory.

Yeh that’s kind of a description of it. Like a dent that goes around the width in line with the shoulder. If I could post pictures it would make sense.

If it's a factory round it can probably bd shot without accuracy / performance loss, so long as it's only a dent and not fractured brass. Denting on factory cartridges is not common but the odd one avoids QC.
Can happen also when FL sizing brass that's been overlubed as mentioned above. So long as such rounds chamber OK they're generally OK to shoot.

I'm not sure if there's a minimum time for posting photos or not but this thread should help

a trick I learned Rgatfield with photos I run an Oppo 16 phone as camera and a lap top I just could not get the lap top to recognise the phone to download photos - so what I do is I send the photo by email essentially to myself - the laptop picks it up save it on laptop and can then post to Hunting Forum sound a silly way of doing it but it works -

Tahr uses Botox to get rid of those wrinkles in cases.

I'd be tempted to see if that could fire form out tbf.
But then again it might be a candidate for the mutant shelf of curiosities

Email Winchester directly and DEFINITELY send it back if asked. You should get replaced, probably with full box. That simply shouldn't have made it out of factory.nothing to loose by letting them know.

Are they all like that ? Or just one bullet ? Either way that look like serious damage, the dent is really deep. Almost looks like a cut rather than dent. Definitely take it back
