What is every one doing in terms of re-sizing brass?

WHen i first started reloading i heard everyone saying how much better neck sizing is so i rushed out and bought a die. At some point you need to FL size so i soon realised if i wanted to me more consistent with reloading then i might as well full length size to a slight crush fit, only fractionally bumping the shoulder. Havent done much reading on this so interested in what others do

I full length resize everything. Used a neck sizing die once and every case jammed in the chamber.
So I sold it and went back to full length sizing.

New as to the game. Neck size fire formed in my rifle and full length new brass or brass thats been fired in another rifle.

horses for courses theres no written rule on how or when to do it so long as it works for you and your happy with the results

I shoulder bump/neck bush and neck size most of the time, and every so often which is like once a year maybe when they become hard to chamber, full length them

annealing is good too

shoulder bump 2 thou less than fireformed, then neck size using collet die

i do this every time

don't like the idea of neck, neck, neck then FL - rather have consistent sizing each time...

I neck size for my BRNO 308 and other bolt action rifles.

I full length size for my AR15

I just neck size. my loads except for 1 calibre run on the light side as through a lot of experimenting ive found that the fastest loads aren't nessecarily the most accurate

Agree totally with fastest isn't most accurate, one of the reasons we reload is accuracy, when you factor in the cost of equipment if you only shoot a little reloading isn't any cheaper shoot lots.
But back on topic, factory ammo is neck sized till it needs trimming,scavenged brass is fl sized then length gauged before using once fired it's neck sized till it needs trimming then it gets a fl again. Bolt actions only here, I believe them new fangled automatic things need fl sizing that is if you can find the empties.

Started neck sizing for my swede out of laziness TBH. Works well. Though I have had an "oh shit" moment in the bush with regards to feeding. Keep your chamber clean.

Failure to properly size cases in anything but a bolt action can result in the action jamming solid.

Hunting rifles I full length size eVerytime, bumping shoulder .002". Plenty of reloads from a lapua case so no reason to make it more complicated.
Target rifle I used to use a competition neck die but I would also run the brass through a body die to bump the shoulder back .002". Just made the rounds concentric without a neck expander pulling things out of line.

Full length size every single time, I want slick reliable feeding every round forever, the smallest amount of crap in the action (or miscalculation with the neck die) can ruin your week with a jammed action you can't sort in the feild. Have been down the neck size only route and learned that it generally makes no meaningfull difference to accuracy in a hunting rifle. Some Open and F class guys full length rather than neck, and their need for life and death accuracy would be greater than mine!

That 308 Lapua brass I sent you is Full Length sized, so is good to go in the wee M7, just in case you wondered!

Yeah mate all good, have chambered a couple and they feel ok. Still to lazy to get my dies etc sorted. Getting reloaders vouchers (man cash) for xmas so will be early next year

So do we lose brass life if we full length everytime?
