    Hornady or RCBS

Hornady Lock n Load auto dispenser big and red
RCBS chargemaster not as big and green

Either way glad you got sorted, the Lee stuff has always been great value and serviceable, have given heaps away over the years to new loaders.

All ive ever used is the lee powder thrower. Sometimes if im really getting carried away ill set it to just below what I want then trickle each load up to the desired weight but usually once ive got a load figured out I just have at it and its always thrown consistent loads.
Also, my "powder trickler" is just an empty 308 case that I tap on hahahab

Plus 1 for the Lee Perfect and Lee Perfect Deluxe. The latter is not cheap with the heavy Lee Stand but it certainly addresses complaints about Lee FEELING cheap and nasty. It's a real pleasure to use and as accurate as the little $65 Lee Perfect. Both easily more accurate than my pretty green RCBS one on its stand to match my Summit Press. The Hornady and Lyman 55 came and went pretty quickly.
I know a lot but it seems less every day...

A baffle will make them even more consistent

Yep, agreed This is a home made baffle for my RCBS Uniflow dispenser. It improved dispensing by making the charges dispensed consistant no matter how much powder was in the column. I just cadded up a suitable sized elipse and then transferred that to some light gauge aluminium.
Probably should be in home made reloading bits thread.

People dump on Lee as a brand for being cheap and nasty.

To anyone thinking about taking a dive into reloading:

Don't rule it out. I started with it, and still use pieces of Lee gear, 15 years later.

They are just as accurate as anything
I have both lee and rcbs options i prefur the rcbs but only coz iits smoother and nicer to use the lee takes brain useage
Consistant working to be consistant ie "up 1 2 3 4 5 down"
My rcbs is just as accurate weather i work it fast or slow
And +-0.2gn which is all you can expect from any powder thrower

I’ve got a Lyman and RCBS and have not used them for years.
The Lee cheaply is the only way to go
Once you graphite them they are incredibly accurate especially with ball powder

Posted on another thread on here, have been using a Lee challenger press since they came out in ‘85. Used a Classic Lee Loader kit for years before that. I use a set of Lyman scales these days as they settle quicker than the Lee ones, they’re both as accurate as each other and they’re both near enough as accurate as high end lab ones. Also use an RCBS chamfer tool, only because I lost the Lee one and a mate had a spare RCBS one. Everything else is Lee and I have no great need to change. I can load ammo with low es and single digit sd numbers without too much effort for target shooting so it’ll do me.

Plenty of reloading snobs rubbish Lee gear.
But the reality is for most it does a good job. But it is made to a price.

We aren't all comp shooters with bottomless pockets.

Run a rcbs Lite. Bought off a Forum member some time back. Have a 1500 in the cupboard. The Lite is robot reliable. You should look at a full kit Apex . They hum.
