A 6 shot group @100yrds. 308 T3x shooting 130grn Barnes ttsx with 46grn ar2208 federal match primer and cac brass.
What would cause it to double up then shift a moa then 1/2. Is it just me. Pic to follow when I work out how to do it
Thanks Sam

Bedding or inconsistent body position behind the rifle spring to mind. Or the rifle just doesn't like that load?
Bedding, check to make sure the action is located on the recoil lug properly.
is it just me or is there no pic
Could also be the brass if it is a mix of lots. I encountered some late CAC that was considerably heavier. The .308 is also velocity sensitive and tend to string vertically if the velocity increases due to a heavy case. Weigh your cases to find out, I had some that were 10 plus grains heavier.

Finaly managed to get the pic sorted, has to be done on the computer. 👍
Ive seen that before when scope was moved and it HADNT yet settled it self into where it needed to be......old engineer mate always told me to move 3 clicks past where you want it then take it back...then tap scope a few times
it might be nothing...it might be something.
@Samsamdjt thats a bloody interesting pic, never seen that before.
My initial thought is a mounting screw is loose and the scope is shifting under recoil or maybe theres something come adrift in the scope itself.
Be keen to hear what others think.
Were any adjustments made during that group
a borescope before n after would tell if its scope reticle moving.
It's nothing to do with the scope or the mounts as after I shot my normal hand load using seirra game Kings and grouped up fine. And I belive it was the top two then the bottom then the middle. Realy strange must be one of those things.
so can you duplicate it ???
is there any noticable diference between your 6 cases????
really strange indeed....but at worst you still have a what?????? 1-2moa load,so all not lost ,its a good to 200-300 deer load.
just spotted CAC brass......check them out for consistancy....they being very old, back then consistantcy WASNT the norm,as much as it is now.
that old brass must as old if not older then Micky Duck. anneal it or throw it away start from the bottom get some brass that you know has only been fired 1 or 2 times check the scope is set up properly? could be the scope I had a similar problem scope internal adjustments had clagged out and I went through the same shit as is happening to you drove me nuts almost gave up shooting so if you can,t figure it out get someone to help figure it out.
My bet is something loose
Rings/bases possibly action screws
Or maybe a cheaper scope that’s fucked out and is moveing on you under recoil
Yer deffo not the scope or rings I have checked it all the scope is only a year and a half old a Zeiss v6 on teir one rings. CAC brass I was given 100 or so all trimed and cleaned ready to go. But might change it but seems a waste.
agree, would be a waste........as said before....how big is overall group???? still good bush range load, which I assume you aiming at with 130grns mono....
If you've had it out of the stock check to make sure you have got it back on the lug properly as seen that a few times.
Next bet is loose rail screws.
If neither of those it has only left scope and ammo to eliminate.
