    Hornady 174 ELD-VT - feedback?

Working up a load for the 308 and while the 168 ELD-M is the likely option, the 174 VTs step up in BC is tempting. Ran a ladder today and the 168 and 174 are running at the same velocities over the chronograph with no visible pressure signs (matches Hornady book data).

Anyone shot anything with them? I am curious if they are too soft/explosive even at short 308 speeds.

Did hornady not talk about them in their recent podcast , where they have loaded them in 300 prc and basically dropped everything in their track?

@Friwi got an episode number? Would be interested to listen to it.
I can only remember/find mention of shooting gel blocks and coyotes on ep 203.

Great Bc for weight -- tryed & tried & tried for accuracy with 223 version, would have to hope the 30 cal is an improvement.

I think that is the one. They did not elaborate on too much on it but you could listen to their hint about them having shot animals with them.

My bet is that they will perform like the 6.5mm A-Tip did in that Gunwerks video ages ago, when they shot a pronghorn at 650m or something like that. Dirty bit exit. Unreal. IIRC the animal actually ran a ways which was incredible when you see the exit. I'd expect the weight / SD of the .30 cal will easily penetrate medium game and then the bullet will grenade. Death follows very shortly thereafter.
