    Hornady 6.5 eld-m 147gr

    Hi,
I just got some of these this week thanks to black watch reloading.

    From right to left: 120gr a-max, Berger 130gr hunting, eld-m 147gr.

I am quite impressed with the bc of .697
It says on the box that they would stabilise in a 1 in 8.5" twist but I have my doubt with such a long bullet.
I will load a few in my creedmoor and see how they shoot. They have a very long parallel bearing surface.
The final plan is to use them into a fast magnum at long range, and try to beat the wind:-)
I also got hold of some eld-m 130. Almost the same bc as Berger 130. It would be great if they could shoot as well in my barrel, as the Berger are becoming expensive to shoot at the moment.

    I ll keep you posted.

$77 at Outdoors Supplies. I paid $98 last week

    Exact same dimensions as a 143gr ELD-X.

Load development in progress this weekend in .260; initial results: promising.

Sounds good. Im still running your 143 loadish. Keen to see the results of the 147. Any reasons for changing other than higher bc?

I'm not extremely impressed with the 143s killing stuff; I hope the 147s perform better (more like the Amax).

    Hi team
Unfortunately our initial shipment was from an alternate supplier to our regular and we suffered unexpected freight charges which turned into additional duty. We decided to take this on the chin simply because of the huge demand for the 147's, and the increasing frustration of NZ shooters with there unavailability. We decided hey lets just get them out there as fast as possible for those who have been waiting so patiently for the last few months. When our main shipment eventually arrives there will be a price adjustment and as with all our products we will pass this on.
    Cheers

I think so, yeah. Just haven't had things drop on the spot like with the Amax.

I figured that they're discontinued and going to be unavailable at some point, may as well move on. Also the speeds I'm getting with the 147gr and the incredible BC gives me an extra 150 metres of >1000FTLBs if you believe in that number, as compared to my old 140gr Amax load.

Will hopefully shoot something fleshy with the ELD-M very soon and see how that goes.
