    Hornady ELD Projectiles

    Hornady ELD projectiles are on order ,and should be here after Christmas .

    Hornady ELD Projectiles




    The ELD-X are the Hunting version with some controlled expansion engineered in.


    Only the 30 cal have been released so far and we are due them just after X-mas

    Interestingly the pic shows a sharp cut off edge at the tail, that is supposed to be something like a 4% gain alone but hard to make, or they have chopped the picture. Sure are some interesting long range rounds making the scene this last year.

    When shooting light projectiles at stupid velocities in the 22-243 imp ie 45grains at 4500+fps the only projectiles that survive are Plastic or Hollow point projectiles, the lead tips melt into a grey mist...

    My personal experience with putting plastic tips in monolithic projectiles consistently shows that plastic tips are detrimental to BC.

    I'm not entirely sure why but back to back comparisons with show it every time, accuracy is not effected, possibly enhanced even but the results speak for themselves....

    I will believe the published BCs when I see Bryan Litz tests & releases the data

    I bet they're like a dollar a projectile. Would be nice if they released a 70gr .224 version.

    75 g and 80g A-Max have that corner covered
