    Hornady subx maximum speed.

I’ve acquired some 175g Hornady subx projectiles I’d like to run above subsonic, maybe 1500fps but can’t find a maximum speed listed. New to reloading. Cheers

so...your wanting to make a varmit projectile?????? cuase thats what normally happens when you run something 50% above what it was intended for.
if it holds together and groups it SHOULD be back to its normal operating speed by ???hundy yards???
    it might be awesome....or not.

Haha, I’ve got a single shot 308 with open sights that shoots to 100m or so. I don’t see the need to run full power rounds. I know these projectiles have had mixed results at sub speeds but maybe at medium velocity they’re good? Like I said I’m new to this reloaded stuff.

piece of piss then.....go for it and see what happens, worst case senario they will be too messy.... at 50m I would seriously consider some of Roberts 151grn hp cast jobbies...driven at speeds 1000-1400ish and see how you get on accuracy wise.that is if what you already have doesnt work for you.

Single shot either lead as suggested by Micky or 3030 flat nose jacketed ones should do the business

Personally i think u should be fine with the 30 cal SubX,s at higher speed as its abit of an odd ball projectile. to my knowledge ( which could easily be wrong) they were made for American Law Enforcement Protocols in mind... they had to pass through windscreen glass at 45 degrees etc so it took the projectile out of a hunting bullet as we know it. alittle more speed may help it for that job. Personally i use the LeHigh 168gr in the 300 Blackout for fallow but have had a good run with the 410 gr Sub X,s in 45/70
