Hey guys I'm going to be setting up a spare room for reloading and was wondering what guys are using in the way of lighting.
I recall reading somewhere that some types of lights can effect electronic powder dispensers so definitely want to avoid those.

Flouros I think was the problem with electronic scales. They're pretty old school now so I'd go for LED's

I have a double fluro unit over my reloading bench with no issues with the scales that I have noticed.
I also have fluorosis that don't effect my scales.
But then I don't have electronic scales either ;)
LEDs sound like a good choice though :thumbsup:

Cool, cheers fullas. Will start looking for LED options
New scales, throwers etc have shields to protect from interference from lights, phones etc. The most important part of the question is to have plenty of light, and by plenty I mean heaps.........
LED but in the 4K range which is not quite blue but doesnt have the yellow tinge
I got a LED unit with a long cord and a plug recently from Bunnings for about $80. Came with all the mounting hardware (easy as), and it's a nice bright diffuse white light, well worth the money

led's are the way to go.
I find the less well lit my bench is the less I have to pay attention to how accurate everything else is. Close enough is good enough...

iv got a kero lamp and about 12 candles strewn around the place, even mounted one on top of my powder measure for that extra bit where it counts
You can buy cheap copy equipoise type desk lamps from warehouse etc. with the correct lamp in them, they are an excellent inexpensive way to have a moveable work light on your bench too.
Just a thought.

Got double flouro light in ceiling, and an old standard halogen reading light over the scales and press.
Never had an issue with electronic scales as far as I know - except for a worn out OEM battery, in my first attempts to measure weight.
Problem was a 'drifting' tare measurement - new battery fixed that.
But borrowing a mate's beam scales to check a few drops, as I 'refuel' the cartridges.
I have a couple of big double tube flouros above and no trouble with my electronic powder dispenser.
I put in 3 LED down lights spaced out over my bench, plus LED strip either side of the toolhead on my Dillon 650 and under a 1200mm shelf over the bench. The strip is run from a driver mounted inside the casefeeder housing, flip the switch and the casefeeder runs and the lights turn on.
I'm running double 5ft fluoro fittings with LED tubes. Same amount of light as the fluoro tubes, but they seem to last forever. No flickering etc.
I bit more expensive to buy up front, but not needing to replace the tubes and starter probably means they work out cheaper in the long run.
I just turn normal light on, like a normal person.
last night I loaded up some pills after a couple of rums. couldn't really see in my dimly lit garage so just put the case under the thrower until overflowing then tipped a little bit out to make room for the projectile. I clearly didn't make enough room though coz when I was seating the bullets I felt the crunch of the powder compressing... might get someone else to test those ones at the Toby shoot in the weekend:D
I scored a big ass industrial light out of a cool store and it hangs above the bench.

LED strip light, self adhesive and comes in cool white. great if your bench has a top overhang. i put a meter of this in the canopy of the ute and its bloody bright
