    Load Data for Belmont Powder

Does anyone have any verified/trusted sources of a decent amount of load data for belmont powder? mainly 223 with 45-65gr projectiles, 270 130gr loads, have heard that some belmont powder is the same as some alliant powder but never seen this confirmed. also asked belmont this question and I got told to have a look at hodgons website for load data?? any help is appreciated

Seems strange they supply powder but no data for reloading, isn't there anything available at all?

It's relabeled rather than its own thing. Which belmont powder are you talking?

mainly 747 for reloading 45gr projectiles cause i got a bunch of them really cheap, also got some 63gr sierras for varmints, id probably be fine using load data for 62gr projectiles? have just seen that belmont 760 is same as win760 so will have a look at that, and if I could use any of the pistol powders for shotgun shells that would be awesome to

Be careful. ADI 2209 and H4350 are exactly the same powders and they are extruded powder.
H414 and W760 are now exactly the same powder and they are a ball powder. They didn't used to be exactly the same so if owning very old batches of W760 the data will not be the same as H414. I think W760 morphed into H414 or maybe the otherway around. It came about with Hodgdon's taking over the Winchester powders a few years back.

What ADI is indicating is H414/W760 is an equivalent of ADI 2209/H4350. But not exactly the same. In some catridges/loadings they may give quite different results.
Care needs to be taken when using equivalents.

There was a thread covering St Marks 747, and where it sits, sometime back, but with the forum's search function it is probably impossible to find.

@Howa1500 I've been using the 747 powder with 55gr pills and started my work up based on the information available on the Belmont website. That link provided by @micky_Duck above is the place to start.

I also pulled some of the Belmont factory .223 ammo apart and weighed their charges before I loaded up my own... just to double check their figures. I found their charges were quite consistent with a deviation of around 0.2 grains. After starting low and making small changes I finally settled on 26.6 grains of 747 powder using CCI primers and 55gr Hornady SP pills. The chrono gives me an average of 2970 fps from a 20" barrel (suppressed) whereas the factory rounds were a little faster, closer to 3100 fps. I don't recall what the factory charge average was (I would need to check my book) but I think it was around 26.8 grains. You would need to check yourself.

To my disgust my sons' Tikka loves these loads and as you'd expect from a Tikka it will typically have three rounds touching at 100m. The rounds go well in my .223 and once upon a time performance was excellent in the AR15 I ran on them.
