Magnum primers in a 260?
Morning Fellas
I’ve managed to win an auction for some Magnum primers on Trade Me that are local to me and have paid a small fortune for them. Obviously bad planning on my behalf but at least I’ll have some . Normally use 210’s in the 260 but these should work ok ? If I reduce the powder charge ? And any idea by how much? I also reload for my Prc which is why I was after them.
Alternatively if someone wants to trade a couple of trays of magnum for large rifle that could work too , preferably local as would hate them to go missing in the post.
I’m located around Kinloch but cover from Taumarunui to Putaruru and Rotorua/ Rerewhakaitu so able to meet in a large area.
Cheers

I've always used 215 primers in my .260 and a number of non magnum cal all worked real well.

Yes you should reduce your charge for magnum primers in the first instance. How much, well I'd go back at least 1.5gr and go from there to be safe. You might well end up with the same load but with a better ES, but you need caution for a start.

My friend has had great success with magnum primers in 6.5CM. As others have said, should work up load again to be safe...
