I have a Remington 1:10 barrel and it stabilises 180 gr Winchesters with no difficulty. I realise that it is the length rather than weight so I ran the figures for the LRAB through the Berger stability calculator.

Here is the result for my .Remington 1:10

I have myself recently acquired a number of LRAB's and am interested in what they will do.

I also calculated the stability for my Bergara 1:12 and it comes out marginal though it does do a reasonable job with other 168 gr projectiles.

I guess it is all a matter of trying it and seeing but I am reasonably confident for my 1:10 twist so I should think 1:9.25 should be a shoo-in.

    Cheers
    Phil

No my mistake. When I saw the first post stating 168 gr I automatically assumed .30 even though he included 7 mm in his post.

I shall take time to read more carefully next time.

    Cheers
    Phil

Good to see them work at short range

I reckon 9.25 would be plenty fast enough mate.
I have tried loading for a couple of other 7mm Magnums with no success in the past. It may well be the minimal jump that they like. I think I just got lucky!

I have been using 210grain long range accubond in my 300rum as a target /hunting load recently and it has been devastating on deer.
Last shot was reasonable close at 200 yards, hit in front shoulder and was like a lightning bolt hitting it. Didn't take a step.
