    Powder for 55gr 223 loads

    Hi guys
    I'm going from a 23 inch barrel, to a 19 inch.
Was using 2208, but I suspect I'll need a faster burning powder, with the shorter barrel.
    So BM2, or 2206h ?
Is there anywhere I can buy a smaller quantity for testing loads ? ( rather than a complete tin )
    Cheers
He nui to ngaromanga, he iti to putanga.

You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

If it helps I use BM2 with the 55grn Hornady for 3150fps from my 20"

Either powder, you'll get good results from both.

I've used both BM2 and 2206h in my 16" Ar15 and Baikal single shot.

Both worked well, but BM2 has the slight edge for me in that it produces slightly better groups.

    Cheers

Yeh, about 27-28grs of W748 for a 55 "..but start lower and work up.. "
It flows beautifully through a thrower

748 and BM1 both flow nicely and throw well,2206 is great powder and goes well in .223
take your pick and go load up and enjoy shooting...dont get all hung up on last fps......it really not that big of deal if its 3000fps or 3150fps at sub 200 yards the goat/deer/rabbit/wallaby/pig etc etc etc wont know the difference if you put projectile in right place.
