I zapped a spiker earlier in the year with one, straight through the engine room.

    It behaved like an FMJ.

We found it about 200m away.

ELD-X would be similar with more expansion I'd expect.

My usual choice for in the bush is 140gr TTSX doing 2780fps. Iv'e also got 120's doing 3000 fps for fallow etc.
Much pressure? That is max load according to adi

Only shot 1 deer with the 120 NBT so far. A heart shot on red spiker at 220yds. Only bones hit were ribs, exit hole showed expansion. Spiker went about 10-15m and then keeled over.

Here is the cross-sction pic 120NBT on the right

Probably go one level slower than 2208 for 162's will get better fill volume and better velocity. RL16 or h414 could be worth a crack. Even at 2500 a 162 is going to be good deer medicine out to 500 odd

    Hi all
I have a 16” suppressed 7-08 which I shoot sierra 150 grn MKs pushed by 41.5 grins of 2208 The last time on the crony they were doing 2705 av. Good killer even though marketed as a match round. I also like the 150 Nosler BT, a very good projectile at 2750 - 2800 MV does great terminal damage.
    Cheers

    50grn 2209 pushing 120bt

Tack driver, purchased from @Tikka7mm08. All the work was done.

Very effective on animals, my 9yr olds gun so pleasant to shoot. He has shot bull tahr, deer and pigs.

42.2 gns of 2208 out of a 16" barrel gives me 2580 fps using a 140 nosler BT . This has proved a deadly recipe for red deer time and again.
