Greetings,
My press is mounted on an old school desk. I don't do heavy case forming and I can move my desk around to suit including to the range. I like to keep depriming, trimming and case prep away from the press and scales. An old workmate holds my cleaning cradle, vice and trimmer as required. This can also be taken to the range. Depriming is done with a Lee punch and base arrangement and not in the press. This keeps all of the grubby bits of handloading away from the press and scales.
As far as fixing your press to the top goes it is a handloading space so you might just have to harden up on that one before someone else claims the space. If you remove the press a thin sheet of ply and a bit of edge trim would remove all trace. Get something portable for the grubby stuff.
Regards Grandpamac.
