Thread: Priming tools

Someone whose name begins with a T and ends with an ussock broke my old Lee priming tool, so I bought a new one. They've changed the design though, and it's now a horrible piece of shit that jams up and cost me $60 instead of a simple handy $26 tool.


Is there a better simpler priming tool, or can someone sell me their old Lee one? (I'll swap for a shiny new one)

Is it the lever that broke Gimp? yes the new ones are a disaster.

I'm not really sure. I think I saw bits of it lying in the shed, asked "what happened to that?" and was informed that "it broke".

I've just got the basic Hornady one:
Hornady Manufacturing Company :: Reloading :: Metallic Reloading :: Tools & Gauges :: Case Care :: Handheld Priming Tool 1 Each

Does large and small primers. Has the ridges to turn all the primers up the right way.
I've seated about a thousand primers without any problems.

Think it was $70 in NZ.

I have had one an so has adam an they are shit also, the old lee ones where primo, he got this........................

now i have same, no shell holders to loose one does all

If its the lever I had some solid alloy ones made a couple of years, pretty sure Iv got a few left but I wont be able to get to them for a couple of weeks

I'll take one of those handles if you can find them then, Sneeze...

I have one of these and I really like it. Seems very well made and is adjustable for primer seating depth.

This measurment is important,in a some machines this measures .220 something and the replacement only works with one(it is the most common that it fit s) but I cant remember which one.Again I will know when I get home.

No it is probably normal until he snaps a press like I did with the lee c-frame I had a few years ago when using a stuck case remover now that is not normal.

Have you seen that old video of me loading .223 using a 2x4?

Sneeze I'd be keen to buy one of those handles off you if you have a spare after Gimp.
