In a 20 inch barrel 47 grains of BM8208 chronographed 2,950 fps and the same load of AR2206H produced 2,900 fps. Both gave good accuracy (Sub MoA). At the same time I tested 47 grains of the now obsolete AR2206 which chronographed 2,940 fps. This showed that AR2206 is faster than AR2206H as I suspected and more like BM2 or BM8208,
This mornings Inbox yielded a flyer from loaddata.com with an article on Modern Varmint Loads for the 30-06. These were in the 100 to 115 grain projectile range and mostly used full power loads. Accuracy averaged in the 1.5 MoA range which suggests that 125 to 130 grains might be a sweet spot for light projectile loads in the .308 and .30-06.
