    Redding FL and decapping die

    Hi All

Have recently got a 284W, came with Redding dies (pretty well brand new) and a load of brass.

The issue I have is that even with the decapping stem wound out as far as it can and the main stem wound in fully it is not long enough to decap, see piic.

What's going on or have I missed something? Could it have the wrong length stem?

The guy I got it off said he uses a universal decapping die so hadnt use this for decapping only sizing.

That pin looks a little short. I think the manual says it’s should be 3/16 below bottom of die. Which is about 5mm. (4.7mm). Might have wrong length stem inside it.
