I know nothing about the K except what I have read.
Funnily enough I was in AMP's the other day and asked about annealing standard Hornet and Alex said not a problem.
I would anneal in your case.
I'll probable start annealing my std Hornet some time in the future mainly to try and prevent split necks.
I've never had a split neck with std hornet but got one fire forming the k brass
K Hornets are more prone to neck splitting from my experience. Annealing after every firing certainly prolongs the neck life.
If you aren't fireforming new brass to K hornet you need to anneal before fireforming.
Cases from different manufacturers show different tendencies, some makes of brass do have a tendency to split more than others when fireforming
I bought some PPU 22 Hornet a while back to shoot in my K Hornet as I need some more brass, I fired 5 rounds and 4 split badly, looks like I won’t get much brass from them. I have fireformed Winchester and RP brass and it comes out fine. I have loaded this brass several times and it ok but eventually splits form on the neck.
I'm using some s&b I picked up cheap as it had been sitting on a shelf for ages.
I have K-Hornet dies but I just shoot any old factory Hornet ammo. PPU certainly doesnt fireform without splitting but other cases can be ok.
My Cadet K-Hornet isnt fussy - it shoots any ammo to minute of rabbit or goat , and thats good enough for me.
