    Reloading Manual Preferred Powder

    Something I have wondered about.

When reading a manual for the caliber and given bullet weight is it assumed that the powder that is at the top of the list for the given weight is the preferred one
Or does it make no difference EG

308 Norma In the ADi manual for 200gr Nosler partition
    ADi 2209 then
    2213sC, finishing with
    2217.
    And there is no Retumbo/2225

Does this mean the preferred power in the rifle and barrel length stated is 2209 the least preferred is 2217 and 2225 shouldn't be used at all in the opinion of the bloke who put together the manual?
Or perhaps its simply that it was done alphabetically ?

Ive had a look in mine, seems like powders are mostly in numerical order then they put trailboss in the middle?

I thought they listed them in burn rates? Fastest to slowest, some manuals like Nosler will * by the most accurate powder they found.

Right it has become clearer now
I may have stumbled on the answer myself but not for some time I suspect.
    Thanks.

For the .308 Norma ADI has 2213sc 70 grains at 2889fps and 2217 73.0 grains at 2859 should be an easy choice
go for 2213sc 30fps faster and lower pressure and less powder
